EHS Projects are a growing environmental consultancy working with some of the world’s largest industries. The company is based in Sheffield and is looking to increase its team to address the rapid growth in its business. We currently are involved in the UK’s largest off and on shore renewables programmes.
Following the successful appointment of our last graduate intern as our Carbon Specialist, we are looking for another equally highly skilled environmental graduate to join our team and assist in the development of our Environmental Performance Measurement and Monitoring Service. The role will involve working alongside some of the UK’s largest companies to identify and compile environmental KPI data, to then translate this into meaningful summaries and improvement programmes.
Specific tasks will vary across the EHS Projects Ltd internship depending on client demands, but this is likely to include background research on specific market sectors, environmental legislation, support in the development of existing and new client tools to manage and mitigate environmental impacts (including carbon emissions), and where workload allows, exposure to day-to-day activities of an environmental consultant.
The main task identified for the period of the internship is the development and delivery (in partnership with a major UK companies) a tailored carbon management tool. The programme of works includes but is not limited to:
- identification of main sources of carbon within the scope of the client’s UK activities;
- an initial assessment of the data available for such an exercise, both internally within the client and secondary data sources;
- appraisal of existing carbon accounting tools and benchmarking of client needs including a desk-top based and literature review with respect to different relevant operating regimes for each relevant carbon generating activity;
- production of a specification for a carbon accounting tool; and
- development and presentation of a beta version of a bespoke carbon accounting tool.
The intern will be managed day to day by an EHS Projects director with 2 weekly project specific reviews plus 4 weekly client meetings/conference calls.
The position is based in our Sheffield office with some site based work as directed.
Previous work experience is preferable but not necessary.
Degree requirements: Candidates will ideally have a 1st or 2.1 Degree in an environmental discipline.

EHS Projects are looking for a creative design undergraduate to provide a review of the company’s image and materials (website, reports and presentations etc) to enable the company to portray a professional and modern image both in the UK and worldwide. Duties will involve reviewing the current EHS Projects portfolio of materials, designing and proposing new formats and ways to promote these.
The placement duration is flexible depending on the right candidate and agreeing a programme of works to be delivered. It is available over the summer vacation period and could be full or part-time to fit around other commitments.
Candidates will ideally be studying towards a relevant design/art degree.
